We had one last week - subsided this week - coming back by the weekendish...

Coolest day this week is to top out around 93. Today/tomorrow are to be 100+...not cool! (pun not intended)

Is a heat wave in the 60's?

um - it was in the upper 80s and humid as hades here last week.

I laugh when the national media talks about heatwaves in the northeast, with highs of like 93. We call that "cool" in these parts.

The coolest predicted high in the next 10 days is 101. We have a chance to set a record high every one of those days. It should cool down about October.

oh please...when we were in NYC a few weeks back, it was upper 80s and humidity was 35% and they were complaining how hot and humid that was...I just laughed.

Today we will be 98 with 95% humidity, heat index of 105-108...

Well I enjoy when anything south of Ohio gets a literal dusting of snow and states of emergency are declared.

Upper 60's to lower 70's for highs the past two days - overnight temps in the 40's and 50's. Heat is coming this weekend highs in the mid 80's lows in the upper 50's. Overall, pretty comfortable here....

That's true....we're wimps about snow and ya'll are wimps about heat.

Thank you Tropical Storm Debby! We are a balmy 77 right now should have a high of 91 with a low of 65. Heat Index 80 humidity 42%. That's is pretty cool for this time of year. Although by Friday should be looking at highs of 98 with lows of 73. Still not too bad.

"Normal weather" in Oklahoma just doesn't exist. With the possible exception that if its May, there will be tornados.
Summer ranges between 62 and 112. Winter ranges between 86 and -13. Rain fall ranges between -6" and "EPIC". Snow fall from Nada to 8 foot drifts.
Oh, and its always windy at Lake Hefner when you are running or playing golf.....both ways!

i love cold weather and snow, you'll never hear me complain about it. But it is true that any chance of sleet, flurries, or actual snow send our local weather people into a tizzy that is only surpassed by chance of hurricane...

100-106 over the next 5 to 6 days. Yes, that's extremely hot in South Central Kentucky. And we haven't had rain in weeks - literally.

It was 60's over the weekend, 73 yesterday and should get up to 85 today. The clouds and rain cleared.

A small town just north of me hit 113 yesterday. It was already above 80 when I left for work this morning. We are predicted to hit 112 today - hottest in the state.

It's over 110 this week. We've had over 100 degree weather for the majority of this month. Enough already! I....am.....done!

heat index was 105 when i climbed on my bike at 6:30 last night...not much fun...

I am hoping for a spell of hot and dry weather, the grass has not stopped growing this summer and I am getting too old to cut it every week. I think it was only 101 yesterday.

They are predicting 113 today. We insulated and air-conditioned our Well House for the big dogs last year and they are making good use of it this year too!

I feel for the kids starting school today in OKC. It's supposed to be the hottest day of the year!

I'm not sad that I'm missing the crazy hot weather and school starting this early!

School here doesn't start until after Labor Day.

School begins next Wednesday the 8th here.

OKC is on a year-round school calendar. I don't know quite how it works, but they have breaks of two weeks I think rather than 2 days in the fall, etc.

We started that here too. Kids go back on Aug 8th. They get a 1 week break for fall break instead of 2 days, 2 weeks at Christmas, 2 weeks at spring break, 9 weeks for summer.

Last year.

They also get out before Memorial Day in May. We don't have snow days as snow just doesn't happen very often - once every 10 years or so.......

They would never get the unions to agree to that here.

ours starts the same day...for public, some private have already started, others are later...

but, they also get out the 2nd week of may...

week for Thanksgiving
2 weeks and 2 days for Christmas
week for Mardi Gras
week plus 1 day for Easter
1 day for parish (county) fair day
1 day for MLK
1 day each 9 weeks for teacher in service

sure a lot of days off...33 this year

My digital weather thingy at the house (in the shade and 3ft off the ground) registered 115 as the high yesterday.
Yesterday was the first time in a long time that I changed a 3 mile run into a 2 mile run due to heat.

I dread school starting back...dang school zones!

Wishes school would start soon around here. . . .

School starts the 15 here (central IL) and then the 16th is my sisters college move in day. I'm really excited and really dreading her leaving- I am VERY ready to get her out of my apartment, and excited for her to get this opportunity. I am very NOT ready to be left alone to deal with the train wreck that is my mother and brother.
