Ho-Ho-Ho, Santa! Are we the only two people here today? I'll take an irish coffee this morning - it's a bit chilly out for this southern girl.

It's about 18 out I think, just chilly enough to wake you up on the way to the car!

I brought a big griddle and will be whipping up french toast for the next couple of hours, until I leave early for the day grin

Re: The Christmas Eve bar is open - 12/24/12 02:36 PM

Irish coffee sounds great.

It's about 24, cloudy and we are expecting a little Christmas snow later in the day.

I'm working and left the kids home--each with a list of chores to do that are expected to be completed before I come home at noon. smile

like that will really happen crazy

I''ll be happy if the house isn't destroyed and a total mess when I get home.

a freezing 75 in store today for south Louisiana, and 76 with rain forecast for tomorrow...nothing like turning the AC down to make it cold enough to have a Christmas fire!

Re: The Christmas Eve bar is open - 12/24/12 02:38 PM

We've got daycare at the main office today. They do it on Saturday mornings, Christmas and New Year's eves in our big "community room" which my area shares a wall with. Tends to be a bit loud on these days with the sounds of children screaming and beating each other up with chairs. Good times!

Re: The Christmas Eve bar is open - 12/24/12 02:39 PM

Yeah - Kid wonder has her list of things to do. She loves to wait until the last possible moment to do things. Washing clothes is not one of those things that can be put off! She has to do a load of clothes, wrap 3 presents, and make sure the pets that remain at the house are fully stocked and ready for us to be gone a few days. Oh Well, at least the turtle's hibernating and we don't have to think about him!

I think I might steal borrow a Stella Artois from the fridge in the kitchen at work this morning. I've never had one but I dreamt I stole it and showed up to work the next day drunk. (I've never been drunk either wink)

My 11 year old daughter and 6 year old niece were home alone for a half day a few weeks ago- i told my daughter to make bowls of easy mac (the microwavable macaroni and cheese) for them for lunch.

she forgot to put the water in with the noodles on the first bowl. microwave caught the noodles on fire. My house smelled like smoke for 2 days, and my microwave STILL smells like smoke when it's being used.

i think you better have them stick with the PB & J.
