TX Tornadoes - 05/16/13 10:59 AM
I sincerely hope that our BOL community in TX are safe.
Grandbury got hammered! Friends in the area are fine but said that debris fell from the sky for hours.

Granbury totally got hammered. Scary stuff. Cleburne sustained some damage as well from a different touchdown. I'm just glad all that mess stayed west of us.

Our EVP has daughter and her family who live in Cleburne, Texas. He went up to help use chainsaws to clear debris from around their house. Both of their vehicles sustained damage. The tornado that hit was a bad one, but most of the focus has been on Granbury where the fatalities occurred.
That may be a blessing, When we were hit by the May 3rd tornado ('99) we were also outside of the area of main media coverage. We got the same help but not the news folks all over the place and in the way. I'm sure they mean well, but we liked not having them.

One of worst hit areas was a Habitat neighborhood.

Tornadoes Several people from my town (suburb just SW of Tulsa) were facebooking about how they were finding Oklahoma City newspapers and prom pictures from Shawnee in their yards this morning. CRAZY. 80-100 miles away.

I have a friend in Shawnee, but it touched down just east of them, but they could hear it.
