Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/02/13 09:01 PM

I will be replacing the Fancy Lawnmowers in all future bars with my latest find, Palma Louca...this fine pilsner hails from Brasil, and is made by the same brewery that makes Xingu, the greatest dark beer in the world.

As always, please enjoy responsibly...

I'll just take a Mich Ultra, please. Those high maintenance beers just..well...they taste like swamp water to me. sick

Michelob Ultra, the beer that leaves a foul aftertaste...how's that for a good advertising jingle?

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/03/13 01:37 PM

^^^ultraist.

ETA: Look...I've stepped up in life over the years...I went from Nasty Lite, to Bud to Yuengling/Ultra/Limerrita over time...I just can't handle dark beer...haven't found one that suits my tastebuds yet.

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/03/13 01:52 PM

I will stick with Shiner Blonds
Posted By: RR Joker

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/03/13 01:54 PM

Shouldn't that be 'shiney blondes'? crazy
Posted By: HappyGilmore

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/03/13 02:10 PM

Pale - it is a fine pilsner, a bit lighter than a Shiner Blond...if you can find it, you should try one. I've revamped my beer listing:

1. Palma Louca
2. Stella Artois
3. Xingu
4. Fancy Lawnmower
5. Abita Amber
6. Shiner Bock
7. Pilsner Urquell
8. Negra Modelo
9. Victoria

So i have room to add 1 ore to my favorites list...

Michelob Ultra?

I am not a fan of Budweiser products at all...they give me a terrible headache before i've finished the 1st one...nothing like a hangover on the front end!

that is one fine list Hap!

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/03/13 02:45 PM

You need Lazy Magnolia's Southern Pecan on that list.

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/03/13 02:48 PM

I think a nice Berry Weiss or a Summer Shandy (Lemonade infused beer) would nicely complete the list. smirk

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/03/13 02:57 PM

I've moved towards pale ales and IPA, and have become a fan of Stone Brewing's beer. I treated myself to a six pack of Stone IPA last week, but at $12 a six pack, I won't do that too often. Their Arrogant Bastard beer is excellent, but at $12 a four pack, it's too pricey for me.

Schlafly Pale Ale is always in our beer fridge, but so is Budweiser, for those times when I've just finished the yard work and need to slam a couple to cool down.

Sorry, but beer with fruits, vegetables, nuts, lemonade, limeade, clamato juice, or anything inserted are not for me...if you have to add things to a beer to give it flavor, that says the beer sucks to begin with...

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/03/13 03:11 PM

1. Francizkaner Hefeweizen
2. Keilerweizen Hefeweizen
3. Schoefferhoeffer Hefeweizen
4. Schoefferhoeffer Kristalweizen
5. Shipyard Pumpkinhead
6. Blue Moon
7. Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy
8. Xingu
9. Some random wheat beer I've yet to try
10.Some random wheat beer I've yet to try

Michelob Ultra is my go-to when I'd like a beer but the bar doesn't carry real beer.

Like Happy's luck with Budweiser products, Coors Light gives me a headache before I'm half done with one bottle.

Says the man with Stella, Abita and Modelo on the list? You are missing out on some fantastic brews. To each their own I guess.

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/03/13 04:00 PM

Never ever having even tried a beer, I tried a leftover Stella from our bank's Christmas Party in January. I could barely choke down the first drink before I dumped the rest out. Blech! sick

Yeti
Coop DNR (This one is not for the young or weak of constitution)
Samuel Smitty's Oatmeal stout

I will drink junk beers too (coors, mich, bud, etc) if it is hot enough outside, the beer is cold enough and there is no there choice. smile

Generally speaking, I do not like Bell's beers BUT "This One Goes to 11" is fantastic as well. It is 11% ABV so be careful.

minimal amounts of A-1...but that is only on a burger, never on a steak. And one does not drink (well, no one I know, anyway) multiple 12 ounce bottles of steak sauce (although i have a cousin that used to drink 12 ounce bottles of Tabasco straight to win $20 bets in bars.

Beer does continue to ferment, so drinking a beer from 7 months ago, yeah, that's not good...

Dip, if you see a "Flat Tire" thread, it may not be about how to fix a deflated circle of vulcanized rubber..... smile

Re: Dear Fancy Lawnmower fans... - 07/08/13 06:15 PM

and "Fat Bastard" threads have to do with Ale, not the bad guy in an Austin Powers movie
