question for matt b - 07/19/13 05:08 PM

i was just reading an article about all the store that will not be carrying rolling stone this month and there was a store listed. in Iowa. with a rather... um... naughty sounding name.

K&G are the initials. is that a real place? and if so, what kind of store is it?

(i would type the name, but it's my first time here in forever and i don't know who the mods are anymore.) (or if they will think i am making it up.)

After pondering and pondering, and searching for a list, it came to me what you are likely referencing.

It's a gas station/convenience store chain wink If you google the exact name, you'll see their site come up as the first link. If you deviate, you might get something a little more...adult in nature laugh

They have more than 400 convenience stores in 11 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming).

Is it sort of like "Came and Went" only not past tense?
Yeah, we have those here. They have been the butt of teenage jokes for many years. laugh

Don't be so oversensitive! laugh

We have an individual that runs a hair salon that has a name far more controversial and shares a name with a part of the female anatomy. eek I'm not sure if the owner realized what she was doing or not.

"Kum & Go" makes sense for a gas station to me.

We also have "Gas n Go" and of course for those of you in a hurry "Quickie Mart".
Adolescent humor is easily applied to all of them. laugh

This reminds me of a store on the east coast that I questioned, but didn't want to google.

Yeah we have those in Nebraska too but when he wrote K&G I had no idea what he was talking about.
