RIP Paul Walker - 12/02/13 02:59 PM
I was pretty bummed when I heard he got killed. He seemed like a pretty decent guy.

The second hottest man is the Fast and Furious series.
(Next to Vin Diesel of course)

I was convinced that this was a hoax - considering there was a hoax about his death just days before that his reps had to come out and say wasn't true. It wasn't until the MSM outlets starting confirming that I believed it. So sad.

He played Brian O'Connor in the Fast and Furious franchise. He also had a degree in Marine Biology.

RIP 2005 Porsche Carrera GT and Paul Walker.

Re: RIP Paul Walker - 12/02/13 07:33 PM
even though he was the passenger in the car being driven by a former race car driver, at some point i'm thinking he'd say "hey, buddy, it is 3:00 in the afternoon and you're going more than 100 MPH on surface streets...think you want to slow it down a little?"
sorry, but this is nothing but Darwinism at work...

I'm using this sad event to teach my kids that showing off is, too many times, when very bad things happen.

Re: RIP Paul Walker - 12/02/13 08:23 PM
This guy helped more kids and young people with his various outreach programs than most groups of people will ever even have a chance to. It is nice to see a guy so giving of himself and I think that is why this effected me more than the normal Hollywood death news story. RIP buddy, God be with your family and friends.

Thanks-that explains why I didn't know who he was.

Re: RIP Paul Walker - 12/03/13 03:03 PM
Did you hear Vin Diesel said a few words on his behalf, and referred to Walker as "Brian"? Strange, indeed.
My sister-in-law dated him for a few months and said he was a very nice guy.
I thought it was a joke at first too and I replied to my wife that he was driving too fast too furious..... needless to say it was the wrong thing to say

Re: RIP Paul Walker - 12/03/13 05:01 PM
The nature of the accident is why I thought it was a hoax for a while as well. Just seemed too coincidental given the F&F movies he is so famous for.
Saddened to hear, both for his family and the driver's. It will be interesting to see what they do with the 7th movie, I believe it was still filming.

Exactly my thoughts.. and there was a hoax not a few weeks before about him, which is creepy!
I heard he was due in Abu Dhabi this week to film - so who knows?

He was also in the Disney Movie "Eight Below" if you saw that.

I couldn't watch that movie... so sad. He was also in "She's All That". I just happened to catch that the other weekend... I had totally forgotten he was in it.

Re: RIP Paul Walker - 12/04/13 03:08 PM
What I would like to know is why there is not as much Hollywood support (the fan support has been great) for Mr Walker as there was for the Glee guy. (other than those who worked with him) I would not call myself a "fan" of either.
Walker has been in the industry for 40 of his 40 years and there has been no news of any character issues with him. He seem to be one of the few good guys in Hollywood.

Re: RIP Paul Walker - 12/04/13 07:55 PM
I wonder if there will be a hue and cry that he should posthumously receive an Oscar for his latest F&F movie, much like there was for the wooden Joker performance by Heath Ledger...
My sister-in-law said he was a Mormon. But I heard on the new that he was a self proclaimed Christian... whatevet that means

Bacon,
I should have quoted Ed's previous comment. I was just throwing out a possible reason why not much Hollywood support.

What difference does it make? He's dead.
The difference would be eternity from either of those perspectives, and that is a fairly big difference to a lot of people.

And I'll repeat: He's dead. Can't change what he believed or practiced in life.

I saw a commercial that sales of the latest F&F DVD will donate a portion to his charity. I thought that was nice.

Re: RIP Paul Walker - 12/06/13 06:45 PM
I read about it this morning; he said he was a non-denominational Christian.
And, he apparently did a lot of philanthropy and charitable work all very quietly.
