Favorite cartoon characters and shows?

While my son was watching some of his cartoons last night, I couldn't help but think about some of the cartoons I used to watch.

My favorite is undoubtedly the old school Bugs Bunny!

Another vote for the classic Warner Bros. always irrepressible Bugs Bunny.

All of the Looney Tunes characters really! But Bugs has always stood apart. lol

My cousin was one of the main artists for He-Man.

Foghorn Leghorn, Tweety Bird, Tom and Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Heckle and Jeckle, Road Runner and the Hamms Bear.

Foghorn Leghorn. My dad always could do a great impression of him. Tom and Jerry, Superfriends, Marvin the Martian.

Jetsons and He-Man for sure. Captain Planet too!

There was nothing like waking up on a Saturday morning, pouring a bowl of Coco-Puffs and tuning in to Roadrunner & Wile E Coyote, Tom & Jerry, Buggs Bunny, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Droopy, etc.

Loved Foghorn Leghorn, (I say look at me boy when I am talking to you, the boys elevator doesn't reach all the way to the top if you know what I am talking about)

Yeah, except for me it was Cheerios with all the sugar I could get away with on them. The only "compliance" back then was my mother's sideways glances making sure I didn't use too much.

Kids had to add a ton of sugar to "adult" cereals in order to make them edible. It's no wonder I identified with the Tazmanian Devil cartoons.

On a side note, I was looking at a 70's page on FB and someone posted up a pic of the Sleestacks from Land of The Lost as well as a pic of a Squigmond The Sea Monster lunch box, awesome stuff.

I liked watching the Laugh Olympics and Jabberjaws. I also watched the Creature Double Feature.

Happy, they also had HR PufNStuf along with Jimmy and his golden flute Freddy.

Always thought HR looked like Mayor McCheese.

yes, it counts...much like when "catch and release" fishing is done...you caught the fish, you just didn't keep it...

I think I'd have to say Bugs Bunny was my favorite, but I think it has more to do with the memories made on Saturday mornings. It was always the one day my mom got to sleep in, so my dad would get up early with me and my brother, pour us some cereal and let us eat it at the little bar/counter we had, and watch Bugs Bunny. It was a really good bonding time with my dad that my brother and I still remember fondly.

Smurfs, Transformers, Gummy Bears. Once Soul Train came on, then we had to shut the TV off and get to our chores.

Totally gives away ages. I cannot believe I forgot to mention the Smurfs. Loved watching Papa outwit Gargamel and Azriel.

Saturday mornings, my sister and I would watch our favorite cartoons and then get to our chores so that we were done in time to watch American Bandstand.

My kids have no idea what it was like to only have Saturday morning cartoons. I can even remember going down town on special occasions and watching Saturday afternoon cartoons.

During the week there was a 1/2 hour show called Mr. Cartoon. Everyday at 4. It featured the Banana Bunch for w while, then switched to Warner Bros. Popeye, Buggs, etc.

Oh forgot about He-man, my kid brother and I had almost every toy figure they produced for that cartoon between the two of us.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out when I was about 10 or 11, so I didn't watch it as often as I did the older cartoons - but I was a pretty big fan anyway. I still have the original 4 turtles in their packaging. The packages aren't in great shape, but they're still sealed.

Loved Johnny Quest. Next Foghorn, Sylvester and Tweety.

For some bizarre reason I always loved UnderDog.

Pink Panter.......Rocky and Bullwinkle. I wasn't a real big fan of Rocky and Bullwinkle; I watched the show just for the Mr. Peabody and Sherman segments.

Anyone recall "Clutch Cargo?" Was probably all over with by the early 1960s. Was dreadful.

Perhaps I was too young to "get it" but it seemed cheesy when compared with "Mighty Mouse" which I was watching at the same time.

Still doesn't ring a bell noelekal......Mighty Mouse, however, was awesome!

I used to have the Hong Kong Fuey song memorized. Sadly all I recall now is the "nothing but a super guy"
