Freezing Friday

When does hibernation start because I am 100% participating in that. (Well, and in today's potluck, too!)

13 inches of snow at my place so far and I still had to go to work. We expect another 4+ inches today

Thankfully my little corner of ND escaped getting too much snow, but we're bracing for deadly windchills this weekend (-50 is being predicted). We've been fairly lucky the last couple of winters to have some pretty mild weather (for us anyway), so this year has definitely been a return to "normal" with a vengeance. I learned early, early on not to complain about the cold too much though; having a mother who delivers mail kind of puts a stop to any fretting about having to walk from the house to the car in the cold at a young age.

Layers, layers, layers!

We are 62 degrees right now with about wind in the teens. Storm coming in tonight and highs tomorrow 9 degrees. Time for the crock pot and go no where. Chores will be so much fun..:) On the bright side anything above freezing feels like 70 now that we have had real cold..

17 yesterday, 20 today, 57 Saturday and 65 Sunday. Rapid climate change, anyone?

We're the same. It's like 70 here today and tomorrow we will have wind chills in the single digits. Gotta love this roller coaster.

Just got a Weather Advisory that the wind chill will be around -20 to -50 tonight Yahoo!

Actually, that sounds perfect

Highs in the low 30s. Teens overnight this weekend. I would prefer our typical winter weather of 40s and rain.

Yesterday it was in the 70s and today we will be in the low 30s. By Sunday, it will be back up to in low 60s. Crazy!

We had a very bizarre few days:

Friday- -17 degrees with wind chill;
Saturday- mid 20's-6" snow
Sunday- mid 50's some rain
Today: teens.

You're getting our weather. Saturday - 73. Then it dropped 10 degrees in 2 hours, and another 5 degrees in 5 minutes while I watched. We ended up with lows of 18 the last two mornings and highs only in the 30s. Thankfully it's going back up starting tomorrow or I'd have to burn the house down to stay warm.

woke up to -25 air temp on Sunday, but it got up to -8 ... so we had that going for us

It was 9 this morning when I went out to do chores. Nothing makes you hustle through feeding like a wind chill well below 0. I don't know how y'all real cold weather people do it every year. I'm ready for the 50's by the end of the week!

We've dipped into the 70's, but we're forecast to set record highs this week. Kinda hard to get into the Christmas spirit when you're tempted to go to the beach, but I'll take it 'cause the Christmas spirit passed me by this year anyway.

I live in a state that go through 4 seasons in one week.

Car never showed it colder than -9 when I know it was -13 or -15 (not counting wind-chill which they say brought it down to -25 or -30)
Maybe the car will not show colder than -9 for some reason.

It was -27 when I went out to do horse chores on Sunday morning. When it is that cold, there is no messing around. Everyone knows their place and goes to it without issue.
