...sandwich?

Need some new ideas and I know that with the BOL bunch, there will be some wild ones. Let's here 'em.

I love a grilled cheese with lots of crsip bacon and a little mustard with a bowl of tomato soup.

But I like the triple decker club sandwich too - ham, turkey, lettuce, tomato, salt & pepper, a little pickle with some bell pepper and loads of Mayo. yummy

They are great, to me it's pretty much a ham and turkey, but the key is the bread is dipped in egg then grilled.

Reuben is a good call too.

Re: What's your favorite...... - 09/28/06 05:56 PM

two:

homemade - fried cheese "clt" - fry some provolone slices until browned on each side, drain, and use this in place of bacon on an otherwise blt sandwich.

restaurant - chicken breast, bacon, guacamole, and sprouts. Preferably on a croissant.

Slub and I need to get lunch together. My two favorites are the Monte Cristo and the Reuben. I wouldn't turn down turkey with Swiss, either.

Two fried eggs, eight strips of bacon and a slab of melted cheddar cheese (to hold it all together) piled high between two pieces of toast.

And a diet coke to wash it down (I’m trying to watch my figure).

I like to cook when I can.

The Quad Stacker is only for when I’m lazy, which is only 23 ½ hours per day.

Cubano - Shaved ham and pork with pickles, cuban mayo on corn bread roll

Turkey Club

Rachel - A Reuben, but with turkey

French Dip - possibly my favorite, but it's hard to find a place that does it right

Pastrami on Rye at Katz's Deli in Philly.

Sharp Provolone Cheesesteak wit, from Tony Luke's in S. Philly.

If I'm making them myself, my favorites are:

Eggs Salad

Tuna

BLT

I like the Monte Cristo but I want strawberry perserves with it.

I also like a ham, cheese, and pineapple sandwich with mayo and mustard on white bread. It's even better grilled.

Oh, yeah. Forgot - plain ole pineapple sandwiches, banana sandwiches with mayo, and banana and peanut butter sandwiches with mayo.

Re: What's your favorite...... - 10/23/09 05:55 PM

Oh, this is tuff, I love so many sandwhichs.

But would probably be a large italian sub from Tommy's in Upper Arlington, Ohio, but add pizza sauce to it.

Also like the baked chicken grinder from Grinders.

From home, Toasted whole wheat, with off the bone honey ham, salami, trail bologna, mustard, lettuce, onions, colby and farmers cheese.

Also love a great thick fried bologna and cheese and onion, and mustard.

Oh, a Philly steak and cheese is good too.

Someone stop me, I am getting sooooo hungry now.

Hey Buccs, there used to be a restaraunt (tavern) near your way called the Toll House. Everbeen there before? It was north of Dayton, near west milton.

One of the best meals I ever had.

Re: What's your favorite...... - 10/23/09 06:21 PM

Don't know if it still there, I was there about 12 years ago when a bank I worked for aquired a bank there. I was on the training team for lending. The staff took us to the Toll House for lunch and it was great!

I am a true Ohioan then, cause I LOVE fried bologna.

Re: What's your favorite...... - 10/23/09 06:46 PM

I've never had fried Bologna but I may have to try it. My Dad is from Cleveland so maybe that's enough Ohioan for me to dig it. smile

Re: What's your favorite...... - 10/23/09 06:57 PM

Wow! Never had fried bologna.

Don't buy the stuff hanging in the packages, go to the deli and ask them to cut it for you about 1/4 thick. I prefer German Bologna, but if they have what's called "Old Fashion" it is good too.

When you fry it, either cut it in half and stack your sandwich or put a slit in it from the edge to the middle to keep it from "bubbling up" on you.

The cheese is up to you, some like it hot with Pepper Cheese, myself, I prefer colby, cheddar or American.

Put on it what you want, you saw what I like above.

ENJOY!!!
