Need ID to deposit cash?

I'm wondering if I missed something....An employee of the bank came in today and said that her sister(who banks at a large bank) had to show her ID to deposit 200.00 to an account she was a signer on. Another friend of hers who banks at Chase and had banked there for years had to show ID to deposit 100.00 cash to her own account. When asked why, both friends said they were told it was a new money laundering regulation. Is there a change that I missed somewhere???

Despite what both her friends told her, it's not a new money laundering regulation, it's just bank policy.
