My nephew is currently at OU Childrens Hospital undergoing tests for suspected Luekemia. This was a very sudden development for an otherwise healthy 14 year old. Their family all live more than 500 miles away making it difficult for them to be there to lend support.
If you have a moment, please include him and his parents in your prayers.
Thank you.

Same here. I know how that is. I have that situation in my family also. Prayers help.
Will be praying! We have some friends that have a 5 year old that has been going through this and just finished the main chemo and is in the maintenance phase for the next 3 years. I've seen miracles happen for them so will be praying the same for your family!

My cousin's son Geddy has been fighting the disease for over a year now, and is in remission. I will pray for your nephew....

Prayers for health, healing, strength and the support they need.
Thanks all! Bone marrow testing today...
They feel pretty blindsided but are holding up ok at this point - will be at the hospital thru the weekend for more tests it sounds like.

I can only imagine and shudder at that thought. Positive thoughts headed their way for great outcomes!

OU Childrens is a wonderful hospital. They're in very capable and caring hands. I've heard and seen great miracles come out of there. Prayers for healing and strength!

Prayers coming from Wisconsin!!
Update: After more tests, they finally have a confirmed diagnosis of CEL. It is in the early stages. He has started the oral chemo treatment and is doing all right at this time. The doctor seems hopeful this will put it into remission.
Thanks, all, for the prayers!

A quick update: My nephew's blood counts are much closer to normal than they were in October/November. It's encouraging as they appear to be stabilizing as well.
Thanks all, for the prayers. They were greatly appreciated - another example they do work!
Hurray for the good news. Still sending losts of prayers to your nephew
