Prayers for my wife

I ask for prayers for my wife. At her last dentist visit they did a 360 degree scan of her head. Her dentist called last Thursday after reviewing the scan and said she has a mass on her sinus cavity. He has show it to the some other Doctors and surgeons but none has seen like she has. It is about the size of a ping pong ball.

He has referred her to a specialist. He did state it would be rare if it was cancerous but still is a possibility. It simply could be a pocket of "snot." My wife is a worrier so it has been bothering her. I remain positive for her and our little girl. I just ask for prayers for her as we go to the doctor on Friday to find out exactly what it is. We hope it's just snot.

Ahk, two years ago I had lost my sense of smell and finally went to an ENT. He ordered an MRI and I had a very large growth in my right sinus cavity. Surgery was done, and the biopsy revealed just a polyp. ENT said it was the biggest he's seen. I will pray for the same outcome for your wife.

Searching for a recent post of yours, ahk, and got so scared when I saw the title of this thread. Know that I'm praying for you and your wife. Can't imagine the wait until Friday for the next appt. You hang in there!

Sorry, I been busy today and haven't followed up. So far, nothing new. The Dr wants to order a full CT scan and then go from there. So we are waiting on insurance to approve the scan and then will schedule that and meet with the Dr again and possibly do a biopsy.

Waiting for insurance.... grrrr! I wish there was a way to expedite that process. I hope you get their approval asap, so you can move forward quickly! Continued prayers.

The Dr did say from the looks of the current scan he has, it looks more like a cyst than any other thing. He also did say that 98%-99% of the time these are not cancerous and that it is just not common in the sinus.

This is all happening at such a busy time right now. We close on our new home in 2 weeks so we are busy packing, etc; trying to still sell our current home; school starts back up in 3 weeks (wife is a substitute teacher, but stays pretty busy); and our little girl will start 3 year old preschool Starting August 16, I will not be around much until end of month.

I'm late to the party, but am glad to hear this news. Life sure can throw us some curve-balls sometimes.

So finally after 2 months of waiting to get into the doctor, we went yesterday to have CT scan and biopsy. After the scan, the doctors were pretty confident it was just fluid (snot).

So they poked a hole in the cyst and drained the snot! They did do swab of the cyst lining but believe it will be nothing.
