savings account - payment of interest required?

I've been reviewing REG D and the definition of a savings account - however, i have not been able to find a requirement to pay interest on a savings account. is there a such type of account: Non-interest bearing savings account?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

There is no regulatory requirement to pay interest on a savings account.
