Are signature cards for deposit accounts required or are we just required to verify the customers identity? They will still be signing the account opening documents.

It really all depends on your account opening documentation set-up. Most standard formats use the signature card for several purposes: 1) a signature specimen and 2) the signature represents the customer agreement to the depositor's contract and acknowledges the receipt of the various disclosures. Your legal counsel should be consulted.
