Fraud Deposit-Cash App

We had a situation where a customer received a fraudulent direct deposit from CASH APP and then CASH APP withdrawals were attempted but not honored. We contacted our Core processor and have not been successful in returning it to back CASH APP. It has now been over 6 months in trying to resolve this matter. What should we do with this money?

Check to see if the Volunteer State allows for early surrender of abandoned property. Otherwise, it looks like you'll be "holding the bag" until the normal abandoned property rules call for surrender.
