Tribe with a NOW account? - 01/09/07 08:47 PM

We recently acquired some new accounts through a bank acquisition. When reviewing the accounts for NOW account eligibility, I came across two accounts owned by an American Indian tribe. One is subtitled Casino Account, and the other is subtitled Tax Revenue. Would these accounts fall under a "Governmental Unit" as listed in 204.130(d) and be eligible for a NOW account?

204.130(d) Governmental units. Governmental units are generally eligible to maintain NOW accounts at member banks. NOW accounts may consist of funds in which the entire beneficial interest is held by the United States, any State of the United States, county, municipality, or political subdivision thereof, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, any territory or possession of the United States, or any political subdivision thereof.

Thanks for any help provided!
