CTR - Loan Payment - Box 36?

If a customer makes a loan payment requiring a CTR for Part II would we mark box 36 for "other" and put loan payment or would this be box 34?

On the old CTR form, I always marked other and typed loan payment. On the new BSA CTR form in efiling, there is a separate line for "payments".

Do you process a loan payment as a "deposit" to a loan account? If so, you could check the "deposit/withdrawals" and indicate the loan account number.

No, you cannot consider it a deposit for the purposes of the CTR. Using the current Form 104, it's box 36 and "loan payment" as the explanation. As noted, the new e-filing CTR has a "payment" option you should select.
