Do any banks allow their Trust officers to have access to the bank's core software? I am seeking feedback on why or why not.

Is your trust department a component of the bank or a separate entity? If a component of the bank, why the heck not?

Trust is a department of our Bank. Officers and assistants have core access for inquiry, etc.

Why? Their general operating account is a internal bank account and most of the trust customers have some form of banking relationship with us, too.

Trust officers don't open the checking accounts and don't maintenance, but certainly have access to the staff that do.

And I can't think of why the heck not.

It would be totally different if they were an affiliate or third party selling NDIPs, but giving them inquiry access to their customer's general accounts should not be a problem.
