head teller or dual control vault cash access? - 11/10/16 02:25 PM

Good morning,
we had an auditor recommendation to change our cash vault combination access from currently a 1 person 1 combination (head teller) to a 2 person and 2 combinations(head teller with teller) each and everytime cash is sold or bought from the cash/coin vault.
Anyone have any procedures or recommendations they are willing to share ?
thanks in advance

Having any one person with the combination to the vault places that person in unnecessary jeopardy.

Much agreed with Randy here. Dual control is the gold-standard.

Always, Always, ALWAYS dual control. Lack of it is just asking for trouble.

100% dual control. Don't expose your employees or company to that much risk. Many people complain when switching to dual control because they assume it will take sooo much longer but in reality it doesn't.

If you get any push back, just tell them that it protects everyone with two sets of eyes on the money. Once put in place, everyone needs to follow not just say you do. I am talking from experience.
