Bank Audit of IRA Rules and Regs

Bank Audit of IRA Rules and Regs - 12/14/06 03:07 PM

I have been searching on this topic this morning with little reward.

I am looking for guidance or a base template in order to conduct a bankwide audit of IRS Rules and Regulations, primarly on the assorted 1099's, 1098's, Foreclosure and discharges, Backup withholding, construction loan disbursement reporting and and so on.

Can anyone offer me some samples or good resources to check out!

As with anything, time is as of the essence!

I appreciate the help!

Probably nothing you haven't already considered but the IRS website is a really good resource for identifying compliance topics such as timely filing, what to include in what box, etc.
BTW, readers may have been misled by the title of the post. I thought this related to IRAs not IRS.

OMG!!! I meant IRS...must repost!

IRS website was far too broad, and any audit refrence was to what they might audit.

Thanks though!

Hi - I found a great reference tool on IRS Reporting Compliance that's not expensive, updated each year, gives you samples and "plain language" on filing - when, for whom and under what circumstances. (I especially favor Forgiveness of Debt and Abandoned property - on loans)

I recpmmend Professional Bank Services, Inc or http://www.probank.com

Good Luck
