Emailed or hard copy of appraisal?

Our note department is asking if we can accept an emailed copy of an appraisal, with e-signature, or if we must obtain a hard copy of the appraisal with the appraisers written signature?

I prefer to get them emailed.

I can't think of any requirement for a hard copy...please let me know if I am wrong. Thanks
