Federal Tax Lien Reason for Denial - 05/17/17 08:52 PM

What Reg B reason for denial would be appropriate for a Federal Tax Lien? Is that a "garnishment or attachment"? Or would it be a "collection action or judgment", or would it be simply "delinquent credit?"

We just recently ran into this and used the "other" category so that we could accurately describe it ("other: unsatisfied tax lien").

Swiggles - we would use collection action or judgment.

A federal tax lien attaches to certain property......why I thought it should be "garnishment or attachment."

We've used collection action or judgment as they show in that section of the credit reports we pull. I can see your reasoning as well.

....just don't want to get dinged for the use of an incorrect reason or the absence of one......

The loan officer used collection action/judgment so I guess I will leave it at that....
