Coverage for an ice machine?

Coverage for an ice machine? - 02/27/19 04:14 PM

I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I just do not seem able to sort it out on my own this morning so I beg your patience and advice!

We've got a paved lot in a flood zone A with one of those bulk ice vending machines sitting on blocks in the middle of it. The machine does not have a building around it (thought it does have an attached roof) nor is it 'attached' to the ground by anything other than blocks, wiring, and a water line. We will have a deed on the land and a UCC on the machine. What, if any, would our flood insurance requirements be for this?

It does not sound like that would qualify as a structure.

I agree. If it doesn't have two walls and a roof it's not a structure.

OK, thanks y'all! That's where I wanted to go with it but the roof and UCC were throwing me for a loop. crazy

I would venture to say it definitely has two walls and a roof...but it does not sound like it's actually attached and usually those are easily moved away. Therefore, I would not think it would meet the definition of a structure for flood.
