If the trust is using the SSN of the grantor, and the grantor dies, how soon after death must the trustee obtain an EIN for the trust?
If there is more than one grantor/trustee, as in a joint trust, upon the death of the grantor whose SSN was used, can the SSN of the surviving grantor then be used?

In Mass. Guardianship for a child. When opening an account with a minor as the TRO, procedures used to indicate that a parent or legal guardian had to sign verifying the minor's TIN. Mass bankers now indicates - "Guardians and Conservators" - as of 2009 Conservators must be appointed to manage bank accounts.
