Ask About our Accounts & Enter to Win a Trip
06/30/2008
We would like to have a drawing for a trip. What we would like to do is post signs in our lobbies, on our electronic billboards and in our supermarket branches that say "Ask about our accounts and enter to win a trip." Anyone will be able to enter once they come in and speak to bank personnel. We won’t require them to open an account to enter the drawing. We will talk to them about our products and give them brochures with the various accounts we offer and then sign them up for the drawing. Can we do this?
Restrictions May Apply
06/30/2008
When advertising MMDA and Savings accounts, is there a regulatory requirements to state something similar to: “restrictions may apply”? It seems like certain restrictions such as, the 6/3 transaction rule, minimum deposit amounts, etc… which are disclosed within the account agreement should be considered when advertising these account types. If a bank’s ad lists products and service of which these two account are part is there a rule to notify the consumer that restriction may apply or is this just a “best practice”?

Does the FDIC discuss or allow modifications to the Equal Housing logo. Marketing wants to present the doghouse on its own, with the statement "Equal Housing Lender" in equal size font next to the doghouse, vs printed under the doghouse.
