“Centralized” Imaging Strategy

Question:
What are the pros and cons of a centralized imaging strategy?
Answer:

Centralizing your imaging into one location (or with one user) can provide your bank with more control and, usually, greater consistency. That being said, centralization can create a number of bottlenecks and delays. Paper documents must be routed via interoffice mail or courier, which increases costs. Smaller banks with fewer branches are typically best suited for a centralized imaging strategy.
