ADA Website Compliance and Thirty Party Providers

Answered by:

Question:
Do vendors who maintain websites need to have any specific kinds of ADA certifications?
Answer:

In short, no. Vendors who maintain websites may (and many likely will!) assert that they have certifications that qualify with ADA standards; however, there aren't "official" certifications that are recognized by U.S. regulators. You can protect yourself by incorporating provisions in your vendor contract that guarantee that your website will be developed/maintained in compliance with the WCAG 2.0 AA standards

In this webinar, we will review vendor management issues related to the ADA so that you can help ensure your bank’s website and app are ADA-compliant (even if they are managed by a third party).
