Are All Estate Accounts Required To Have EIN?

Answered by:

Question:
Do all estate accounts have to have an EIN number, even if they are a non interest bearing account?
Answer:

Yes, they do. It's easily obtained - the forms can be downloaded and faxed in most states. It's up to the executor or administrator to obtain the number, preferably before opening any accounts.
