What are the different categories of barcoded documents?

Generally, barcoded documents fall into one of two categories in a banking environment. First, some document preparation systems can add barcodes to the documents during the generation process. A second type of barcoded document is called a cover sheet, which is placed in front of the document that needs to be scanned. Cover sheets are useful for documents that do not already contain barcodes.
