Business Customers & CTR Filings

Answered by:

Question:
We have a business customer who will come in and make a withdrawal of over $10,000. Also, the same day an Armored Car service will pick up a withdrawal of over $10,000, to be delivered to the business. How should this be notated on the CTR?
Answer:

There are two credits to cash that add up to the amount reported on the CTR so you check box C: "Multiple Transactions" in item 1.

Section A is the company.

Section B is the person who made the face to face withdrawal, but you should also check "a" for armored car service to indicate why you are not identifying the armored car employee.

The amount in 27 is the aggregated total of the two transactions. Check box 34 and, if a check was involved, item 32. You would also list the account number(s) involved.
