CIP - Employee Online Account Viewing

Answered by:

Question:
We have a business customer who wants to give an employee online viewing access, but the employee is not an authorized signer on the account. Do we have to CIP the employee before we give him access?
Answer:

You would do this only if your CIP Program requires you to perform CIP on someone who can just view accounts; the employee with viewing rights is not a customer of the bank, as defined by the CIP requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act.
