CU Place Stop Payment on CC Already Processed?

Answered by:

Question:
Can a Credit Union put a stop payment on a cashiers check that has already been processed? Also do we have to accept that return or can we (the Bank) send it back to them?
Answer:

A cashiers check is "accepted" at the moment it is signed by the bank (credit union too) employee. Payment cannot be stopped in any time frame, but particularly not after the item has been finally paid.

Either you or your attorney should explain it to them in such a way as they understand.
