A Customer Wants a Copy of a CTR

Question: 
A customer wants a copy of a CTR that was completed on them. Something is telling me that they should not be given one. Am I correct?

Answer by Ken Golliher:You should feel comfortable giving a copy to the person on whose behalf the transaction is conducted; neither the form nor the fact that it was filed are confidential. The conventional wisdom in prior discussions has been that if they ask for it at the time of the transaction you should simply provide it. However, if they ask for it later a fee for looking it up and copying it would be appropriate.

Answer by Richard Insley:CTRs do not fall under the same "gag order" as SARs. You are free to provide copies of CTRs to customers, but if it's more than an occasional request you should consider imposing a fee for this additional service.
