Document Collection vs. Document Imaging Software

Question:
What is the difference between document collection and document imaging software?
Answer:

Banks use a variety of tools and processes to collect information. For example, online application systems allow banks to securely collect necessary information with less paperwork. However, there are still situations where additional documentation may be needed. If the documentation is already in electronic format (such as a PDF), portals are commonly used. However, for multi-page documents that are in hard copy format, the bank may use document imaging software to digitize and organize the records. Integrating collection tools to a bank's imaging system can offer additional efficiencies.
