Estatements and Multiple Accounts

We have many customers who signed up for estatements on only one account, even though they may have multiple accounts with us. Operations would like to make it mandatory for those customers that currently have estatements, to have estatements for all accounts that are held under that customer's name. I don't think we can force this issue, that the customer must authorize estatements, correct?

Answer by John Burnett:Look at the authorization. If it encompassed all accounts, you're OK. If it was account-specific, you need another authorization.


Answer by Richard Insley:You need to get your operations folks out of that type of thinking. As John indicates, if the drafter(s) of your e-delivery consent form had the foresight to anticipate this problem, then you may find there's no problem.First published on 12/15/08
