FDCPA is important to banks

Answered by:

Question:
Why am I concerned with the FDCPA since it applies to third party collectors?
Answer:

Many banks outsource some collection activity and while the bank can delegate authority to collect a debt, it still has the responsibility to ensure rules are followed. Additionally, some states have first party FDCPA rules similar to the federal third party rules.
