Guardianship Account- Previous Charge-Off

Answered by:

Question:
We had an account for a customer that has since been charged-off. She now has another account but it's a guardianship account where she is the ward, not the guardian. Can the bank debit this guardianship account where she is the ward for her previous charge-off on another account?
Answer:

No. As a ward under guardianship, she has no withdrawal access to the account. You cannot set off her charged-off account against the guardianship account.
