Hiding money in cashier’s checks?

Answered by:

Question:
Our customer buys cashiers checks where he is the remitter and payee. Is he hiding money?
Answer:

Maybe. It is a hot spot for regulators when customers store money in a cashier’s check and does not cash. You have to refer it to the BSA Officer and your officer will look at the big picture and try to figure out what is going on.
