HMDA Addendum Info: "At The Time of Application"

Answered by:

Question:
It is my understanding that when a loan is HMDA reportable, the information contained on the HMDA addendum must be gathered "at the time of application." Does this requirement also apply to the property type, occupancy type, collateral address or improved address? Or, can that information be obtained after the app is submitted?
Answer:

I'm not sure what you mean by "HMDA Addendum". Only GMI must be collected at the time of application. The other things you listed need to be gathered and reported, but there is no requirement to collect them at the time of application. Then again, if it's denied or withdrawn and you never are able to gather this information, how do you know what to report?
