Does the CAN-SPAM law apply to email announcements of weather-related branch closings or other information about office hours?
Answer: 

Generally, no. Deviations from normal service schedules can be characterized as either safety/security information or a change in terms. These are clearly “transactional or relationship messages” and are exempt.
