How long can a nonspouse beneficiary postpone RMDs from an Inherited IRA?

Question:
Can a nonspouse beneficiary wait until they are age 70.5 before starting distributions from an Inherited IRA?
Answer:

No, a nonspouse who wants to take out distributions over more than a 5 year period or if they are a beneficiary of an owner who was in RMD when he/she died must begin RMDs no later than the year after the owner died and take an RMD each year.
