How to Make Sure Reg E Forms Are Compliant

Answered by:

Question:
Where can I see if the Reg E forms that we are using are compliant? The forms we have look as if someone put it on our letter head and I want to be certain that it has all the information needed.
Answer:

Regulation E's model forms are contained in Appendix A to the regulation itself.

Adherence to the language and formatting of a model form assures compliance, but only if it accurately describes what your institution does.

Deviation from the language and formatting of a model form does not mean your institution is noncompliant. It simply means you have opened the door to the judgment of a third party reviewer; i.e. now, you have to listen to their opinion and get ready to argue.
