Can I use my HSA to pay for orthopedic shoes?

Yes. “Is my medical expense eligible?” is a question you will hear often. Over-the-counter drugs have not been an eligible expense since 2011; however, shoes are not drugs and remain eligible if needed for medical reasons (letter of medical necessity). We’ll cover some of the tricky medical expenses as well as explain how to safely and accurately answer this question.
