Internal crime statistics

Question:
Where can I find the most recent statistics regarding internal crimes committed within financial institutions? Our local law enforcement agencies don't keep track of this stuff.
Answer:

Many BOL users are also members of the ACFE -- the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. The ACFE posted its every-other-year report "Report To The Nations" in late 2010 and it's a free download. The detailed report indicates that the financial service industry is still the hardest-hit by internal crimes. You can learn about who does it; how they do it; and the costs of internal crime. Download the report at http://www.acfe.com/rttn/2010-rttn.asp.

Don't forget to thank the ACFE for this effort -- certified fraud examiners are often the best investigative partners that the Security Officer can find . . .
