Maintaining the Public CRA File

Answered by:

Question:
Do we have to maintain a public CRA file in each branch office or just in the main office?
Answer:

The main public file can be maintained at the main office and at one branch in each state (if an interstate bank). At every branch office the bank must maintain a copy of the public evaluation under CRA, a list of services provided by the branch, and the capability to provide, within 5 calendar days, a copy of all of the main public file information relating to the assessment area in which the branch is located.

You might consider making your public file electronic and delivering it to all your branches, rather than go the "looseleaf" route. When anyone asks for a copy, just print it out. If you are able to put one copy on your intranet or office network, you don't have to worry about old information at your branches, or the hassle of distribution.
