Making security a bank-wide concern

Question:
I was just made the Security Officer and I seem to be the only person interested in keeping us safe. Is there anything I can do to make more people understand the problems that face our financial institution?
Answer:

I recommend organizing a “Risk Management Committee” at your financial institution. The members of the committee should be from every department in your bank. The charge for the members of this group is to review problems and find workable solutions to risk management/security issues. You will very quickly go from one person interested to several who now have a common interest with you. This method can provide you people who understand the political problems within your financial institution and can discuss different solutions with you.
