Multifunction vs. Desktop Scanning

What is the difference between scanning documents with a multifunction device or a desktop scanner?

Multifunction scanners are typically connected to the bank's network and often provide additional capabilities that desktop scanners cannot provide, especially when it comes to scanning large amounts of documents in a loan file. Desktop scanners are useful for scanning smaller batches of documents or single documents, such as a completed form.
