New E-Filing Form FinCEN CTR Form 112

Answered by:

Question:
The new E-Filing form FinCEN CTR form 112 doesn't require us to enter any option in field number 39 (rssd #) should we be entering this information anyway? and if so, do we have to go back and redo all the prior CTRs or wait for them to be returned?
Answer:

It is an optional field, and you won't get CTRs back just because you left it out. However, we are told that eventually FinCEN may allow you to use the individual branch RSSD number in lieu of filling out the branch's address information. So on a going-forward basis, I suggest you identify the RSSD numbers for each of your branch offices, and start using them in your filings.

If you have branches to which an RSSD number has not been assigned, you can leave the field blank.
