Nonspouse inherit a 401K?

Answered by:

Question:
Can a nonspouse have a rollover from a qualified plan?
Answer:

Yes, but the nonspouse cannot treat as own. Instead the nonspouse inherits the company retirement plan as an inherited IRA. And then follows the new SECURE Act rules for inherited IRAs.
