People communicate using more than words

Question:
I have been hearing that people communicate with each other using more than speaking and body language. Is this true and do you have statistics on this subject?
Answer:

People use many different ways to communicate when you interview them. Verbal communication is only 10% of the message. A person’s tone volume speed and emphasis convey another 30% of the message. Body language and facial expressions convey the final 60% of the communication. This means to truly understand what a person is trying to communicate you must be very aware of all of these variables.
